"Dear Mark: Thanks again for the awesome experience on August 23 for the move we had within Arlington (Ballston to Courthouse). Robin Shannon, Brian Greco and Walter Pliszka were FANTASTIC. All three of them were so patient while we ran into a 2-hour delay with obtaining a U-Haul truck first thing that morning. They just got right to work by moving stuff out of our house and on to the curb to prepare for loading. When the truck finally arrived, they were extremely quick and efficient in getting all of our stuff properly loaded on to the truck. I am still amazed that they managed to fit all of our stuff into the 17' truck to require only ONE trip to the new apartment. They even offered to move a few random items in their minivan on the way over, so that we would not have to do it in an extra trip. NOTHING was damaged in our move using this company. I had a lot of breakable items, such as wine glasses, vases, cups, dishes, wine bottles, and a glass tabletop desk. They loaded and unloaded everything perfectly. They were clearly experienced gentlemen. You were also extremely professional, courteous, and accommodating with the few hiccups that occurred in the schedule of our move. You are a great business owner who is clearly concerned about maintaining the great reputation of his company. Moving Tips
Truck Rental: We recommend you rent a slightly bigger truck than you think you need.
Furniture Pads: We strongly encourage renting furniture pads. For larger wooden items, ex. china cabinets, you will need two furniture pads. Count what you need padded and add a few more in case.
Rope: Please have some rope on hand. They’re good for tying your belongings securely in the truck.
Tools: Keep your tools handy for any disassembling/assembling items. (Free of charge)
Boxes: Make sure you label your boxes, including both contents and where the box should be placed in your new home.
Beds: Tie bed frames together with tape or rope.
Tables: Remove legs (if possible), pad and tie together. Put nuts and bolts in a small bag and tape under table top.
Big Appliances: Empty, defrost and drain the fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Clean the interiors and put accessories in a bag.
Small Appliances: Put your microwave, VCR, etc. in boxes and cushion with wadded paper.
Computers, TV, and Electronics: Use original packaging or buy electronic – specific boxes and pad with wadded papers to take up the extra space in the box. The less room inside the box for the objects to move, the better.
Books: Pack flat in small cartons, alternating bindings. Try to keep each box under 30 lbs.
Clothing: Pack hanging items, including drapes, in wardrobe boxes.
Kitchenware: Stack pots and pans, and cushion with paper.
Dishes: Never stack them flat. Wrap each piece in bubble wrap. Pack plates and saucers on edge, with cups and bowls placed around them.
Bicycles: Cover chains and pedals to keep grease off other items.
Mirrors, Artwork and Frames: Wrap small pieces in newsprint and pack in mirror boxes. Cover larger pieces with cardboard and tape securely.
Lawn Furniture: if heavy or bulky, disassemble. Put nuts and bolts in a bag and tie together.
Rugs: Roll up and secure with rope or tape.
Lawn Mowers/Yard Edgers: Empty gasoline from all tanks and check for oil leaks.
